For my research paper in my Compositional Class, I'll be looking into how FISA holds up agains the constitution. Here's a list of links to help me on my research:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Search_and_seizure
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NSA_warrantless_surveillance_controversy
yes yes yes, I know it is Wikipedia, but it does offer a lot as long as one does not use it as a cited resource . It can help develop ideas.

This looks to be important, especially on fleshing out the details of the amendsments and interpretations of hte constitution. This is great because it features a list of judicial hearings that explain the interpretitions. It can provide a great resource for research into law. This will be a first for me.
'An essential purpose of a warrant requirement is to protect privacy interests by assuring citizens subject to a search or seizure that such intrusions are not the random or arbitrary acts of government agents.' Skinner, 489 U.S. at 421-2 (holding that a warrant was not required in part because 'in light of the standardized nature of the tests and the minimal discretion vested in those charged with administering the program, there are virtually no facts for a neutral magistrate to evaluate'). The Supreme Court recently reaffirmed and expanded the principle first enunciated in Skinner, stating that, in some contexts, 'testing based on `suspicion' of [wrongful activity] would not be better, but worse' than suspicionless testing.
This piece particularly looks interesting due to the fact that it speaks of randomness n search and seizure. this is important to me because the NSA(and its counterparts) just compiles a huge database of communication between person. I should defenitely look into this Skinner case.
and finally, the most vocal group who seems to carry an interesting civil libertarian stance on this issue.

This is a nebulous cyber community, often times speaking anonymously through online forums and social... communities. I find this group of citizens interesting and often times agreeing with their stance on civil liberties. With Ars technica, i will be exploring Digg.com and Wired.

I am really glad to hear someone is doing worse than me at the blog post thing. Not to be malicious or anything. Anyways I think I've turning things around. I haven't missed a post in a couple of weeks which, as sad as this sounds, is a major accomplishment for me.
So in my week of hell before break I've decided to focus on the positive things in my life right now:
1. Spring is just around the corner. I can literally smell it.
2. Less than 2 months until New Glarus begins brewing Totally Naked again.
3. Vincent is beginning to allow me to cut his nails.
4. I'll be able to fix the suspension on my car with my tax return.
5. I paid off my credit card debt just in time for spring clearance sales.
6. Thirty years from now it probably won't matter whether or not I missed a few blog posts. Hopefully. No matter how many times I tell myself that I'm still freaking out.
